Faith Is Knowing

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
Hebrews 11:1

Many people believe God can do great things. They believe He has the power to heal, provide, restore, and save. Yet faith goes beyond simply acknowledging God’s ability. Faith trusts His character. It rests in the confidence that whatever God has promised, He will accomplish in His perfect way and perfect timing.

Throughout Scripture, God’s people were often asked to trust before they could see. Noah built an ark before the rain came. Abraham left his homeland before knowing where he was going. Joshua marched around Jericho before the walls fell. Their faith was not based on visible evidence but on the reliability of God’s word.

This does not mean faith guarantees that God will do exactly what we want, exactly when we want it. Biblical faith is confidence that God will fulfill His promises and work all things according to His will. Sometimes His answer is different from our expectations, but it is never outside His wisdom or love.

When uncertainty surrounds you, remember that your faith is anchored not in circumstances but in the God who never changes. The same God who has been faithful throughout history remains faithful today. His promises are secure, His timing is perfect, and His purposes cannot fail.

Faith says, “I may not know how God will work this out, but I know He is working.”

Reflection Questions
1. What situation in your life requires you to trust God’s promises today?
2. Are you focusing more on your circumstances or on God’s character?
3. Which promise from Scripture can you hold onto during this season?

~Closing Prayer~
Heavenly Father, thank You for being faithful in every generation. Help me to trust not only in what You are able to do but in who You are. When doubts arise and circumstances seem uncertain, remind me that Your promises never fail. Strengthen my faith to rest confidently in Your wisdom, Your timing, and Your love. Teach me to walk by faith and not by sight, knowing that You are always at work for Your glory and my good. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Remember, God loves you and so do I.
