The Advent Truth
Modern Christianity has largely traded obedience for convenience. The very Law of God that once defined sin, revealed righteousness, and pointed people to Christ is now mocked, ignored, or explained away. The Fourth Commandment is treated like a burden instead of a blessing. The Sabbath God sanctified at creation is cast aside for tradition, while many openly teach that the Ten Commandments are no longer binding.
But the Bible warned this would happen.
In Hosea, God said:
“There is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land.” Because of this, swearing, lying, killing, stealing, adultery, and bloodshed filled the land. Then God says something shocking: “Therefore shall the land mourn… the beasts of the field… the fowls of heaven… and the fishes of the sea also shall be taken away.” (Hosea 4:1-3)
Notice the connection. Rebellion against God’s Law did not just affect humanity. It affected society, nature, animals, health, and the land itself.
Ezekiel 8:17 says they “filled the land with violence.” Does that not sound like today? Violence glorified in entertainment. Sexual immorality celebrated. Corruption everywhere. Confusion over even the most basic truths of life. Addiction. Broken homes. Depression. Disease. Greed. Death.
The problem with modern Christianity is not that it talks too much about grace. The problem is that it talks about grace while rejecting the very Law that defines sin. Romans 7:7 says, “I had not known sin, but by the law.” 1 John 3:4 says, “sin is the transgression of the law.”
When a church teaches people the Law is abolished, it removes the biblical definition of sin itself.
Jesus did not die so we could continue in rebellion. He died to save us FROM sin. He said, “If ye love me, keep my commandments.”
The Sabbath was never the problem. God’s Law was never the problem. Sin is the problem.
And the fruits of rejecting God’s commandments are everywhere around us.
The answer is not more worldly religion. The answer is repentance, surrender to Christ, and returning to the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.
