Temple of the Spirit

What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?"
— 1 Corinthians 6:19

As believers, God does not merely visit us occasionally; He lives within us through His Holy Spirit. Paul reminds us that our bodies are temples of God. Just as the temple in the Old Testament was treated with reverence and honor, we are called to respect and care for our bodies because they belong to the Lord. This truth should shape how we think, speak, and live each day.

Understanding that God's Spirit dwells in us should influence our choices. The places we go, the things we watch, the words we speak, and the habits we develop should reflect the presence of Christ within us. We are not our own; we have been purchased by the precious blood of Jesus. Therefore, our lives should bring glory to the One who redeemed us.

This verse also reminds us of our great value in God's sight. The Creator of the universe has chosen to make His dwelling place within us. When we feel unworthy, discouraged, or forgotten, we can remember that God's Spirit lives in us. His presence is a constant source of strength, comfort, wisdom, and guidance for every challenge we face.

Today, thank God for making you His temple. Ask Him to help you honor Him with your body, your mind, and your actions. As you walk in fellowship with the Holy Spirit, may your life reflect God's holiness, love, and power to everyone around you.
