“We brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.” – 1 Timothy 6:7 KJV

And on that day, your bank account, wardrobe, degrees, and social media following will all become irrelevant. What will matter is not what you held—but what you became.
In The GREAT OBLIVION, I wrote about the illusion of material value. Chapter 7, “The Mirage of Possession: When More Means Nothing,” challenges the soul to rethink what’s truly valuable. This final article in the series focuses on eternal worth—the kind of value that outlives you and follows you beyond the grave.

What Travels Beyond Death?
Scripture reminds us: “Every man's work shall be made manifest… the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.” – 1 Corinthians 3:13 KJV

Your works, your obedience, your love, your impact—these are the only "luggage" allowed on the journey beyond. The soul leaves everything else behind like worn-out garments.
Heaven is not impressed by possessions. It’s built for those who pursued eternal things: righteousness, truth, love, surrender.

A Life That Bears Fruit
The fruit of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance—is not grown in luxury. It’s cultivated in sacrifice, in choices to deny self and follow Christ.
That fruit is eternal. It is heaven’s currency.
The question is not “How much did I acquire?”
It is “How much of Christ was formed in me?”

Legacy or Inventory?
At the end, people will remember your legacy, not your inventory.
Some will leave behind estates, yet be bankrupt before God. Others will leave few possessions, but a deep spiritual footprint in lives touched and souls awakened.
Which will yours be?

Final Reflection
Your soul was not designed for temporary shine. It was made for eternal glory.
Possessions fade. Purpose remains. Let your life echo beyond the grave in what truly matters.
