𝐕𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞
“𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘤𝘢𝘯𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘸𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘳 𝘣𝘺 𝘧𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯—
𝘝𝘪𝘤𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘺 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘣𝘰𝘳𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘏𝘪𝘮.”

Life is a battlefield. You have been fighting temptations, trials, fear, doubt, and the world's pull—and losing. Not for lack of effort, but because you are fighting from the wrong position. Victory is not found in our physical strength, but in our spiritual birth. Whether exhausted or defeated, the question is not how hard you fight, but whether you have been born again. Victory begins when one is born of God.

𝟏 𝐉𝐨𝐡𝐧 𝟓:𝟒 declares, "𝘍𝘰𝘳 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵𝘴𝘰𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘪𝘴 𝘣𝘰𝘳𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘎𝘰𝘥 𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘵𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘭𝘥: 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘷𝘪𝘤𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘵𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘭𝘥, 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘧𝘢𝘪𝘵𝘩." Notice where victory begins. John does not begin with effort, discipline, or determination. He begins with the new birth. Before faith overcomes the world, a person must first be born of God.

Being born of God is not about joining a church, following a religion, or improving behavior. Jesus told the religious leader Nicodemus, "𝘠𝘦 𝘮𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘣𝘦 𝘣𝘰𝘳𝘯 𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘪𝘯" (𝐉𝐨𝐡𝐧 𝟑:𝟕). It means spiritual rebirth. God's Spirit lives in our hearts, transforming our desires to His will. It’s a personal relationship with Christ as Lord and Saviour. The old life ends; a new life begins. Victory starts here.

The scripture affirms this truth: “𝘉𝘶𝘵 𝘢𝘴 𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘺 𝘢𝘴 𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘦𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘥 𝘩𝘪𝘮, 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮 𝘨𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘰𝘯𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘎𝘰𝘥, 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘣𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘷𝘦 𝘰𝘯 𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘯𝘢𝘮𝘦: 𝘞𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘩 𝘸𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘣𝘰𝘳𝘯, 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘣𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘥… 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘎𝘰𝘥” (𝐉𝐨𝐡𝐧 𝟏:𝟏𝟐-𝟏𝟑). Faith that overcomes is like a soldier who fights with confidence, not because of the weak enemy, but because the Father is Almighty.

A born-again believer is not just a conqueror—you are more than conqueror: “𝘕𝘢𝘺, 𝘪𝘯 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘴𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴 𝘸𝘦 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘲𝘶𝘦𝘳𝘰𝘳𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 𝘩𝘪𝘮 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘥 𝘶𝘴” (𝐑𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝟖:𝟑𝟕). “𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘪𝘧 𝘢𝘯𝘺 𝘮𝘢𝘯 𝘣𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘊𝘩𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘵, 𝘩𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘢 𝘯𝘦𝘸 𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦” (𝟐 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝟓:𝟏𝟕). “𝘛𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘬𝘴 𝘣𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘎𝘰𝘥, 𝘸𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘩 𝘨𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘵𝘩 𝘶𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘷𝘪𝘤𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘓𝘰𝘳𝘥 𝘑𝘦𝘴𝘶𝘴 𝘊𝘩𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘵” (𝟏 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝟏𝟓:𝟓𝟕). Faith overcomes because it rests in the victorious Christ.

Jesus overcame the world. He faced temptation in the wilderness, rejection from men, and agony at the cross. Yet He declared, “𝘉𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘨𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘦𝘳; 𝘐 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘭𝘥” (𝐉𝐨𝐡𝐧 𝟏𝟔:𝟑𝟑). He did not come merely to improve our lives—He came to defeat sin and death, to give us new life. His victory is our victory. Faith overcomes because Christ first overcame for us.

Have you been born of God? If not, “𝘺𝘦 𝘮𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘣𝘦 𝘣𝘰𝘳𝘯 𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘪𝘯”—and today can be the day victory starts. If yes, then stop fighting like the world’s slave and start fighting like God’s son. You don’t need Christ merely to help you endure—you need Him to make you victorious through faith. Remember, you are not defeated just because you live in a defeated world. You were not born to lose—you were born to win.

𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫: Heavenly Father, thank you for the new birth that made us victorious. Forgive us for fighting battles You have already won. Teach us that victory starts the moment we are born of You. Help us to live as overcomers — not in our strength, but in the strength of Christ who lives in us. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
