BUILT TO HELP — PART 1
Understanding Your Position as a Helpmeet

The position of a helpmeet is not a title. It is a calling. And like every calling, it requires the help of the Helper Himself, the Holy Spirit, to fulfil it. You are not built to help in just one area. You are built to function in different capacities at different times. But before you can help effectively, you must first understand your position.

Here are the first 2 of 4 things you need to know:

1. You Are a Crown to Your Husband

"A virtuous and worthy wife is a crowning joy to her husband, but she who makes him ashamed is as rottenness in his bones." Proverbs 12:4 (AMP)

A crown is a symbol of authority, honour, victory, and reward. A crown beautifies. Your presence should bring peace, stability, and direction, not confusion. You are not there to compete with your husband. You are there to complement him.

Your value goes far beyond childbearing. When you reduce yourself to a baby machine or a baby mama, you reduce your worth. You are a crown. Carry yourself as one.

2. You Need Wisdom If You Want to Build

"A wise woman builds her home, but a foolish woman tears it down with her own hands." Proverbs 14:1 (NLT)

God has given you the power to choose whether you will have a house or a home. A house is a physical structure. A home is the atmosphere, the life, and the relationships built within it. That difference is made by wisdom.

You cannot copy your friend's marriage. You can learn from others but you must discover how that knowledge fits your own situation. A helpmeet needs wisdom to know when to speak and when to be silent, to discern seasons, to manage resources, to handle disagreements maturely, and to support vision without controlling it.

Wisdom is not optional. It is your primary building tool.

Points 3 and 4 are coming in Part 2. Watch this space.
