Isaiah 40:31:
Waiting on the Lord Brings New Strength
Scripture: Isaiah 40:31
"But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint."
Today, many people are tired. Some are tired physically, some emotionally, and some spiritually. Life can bring challenges, disappointments, delays, and difficulties that drain our strength. Sometimes we pray and do not see immediate answers. Sometimes we wonder if God has forgotten us.
But Isaiah 40:31 gives us a wonderful promise. It tells us that those who wait on the Lord will renew their strength. Waiting on the Lord does not mean doing nothing. It means trusting God, seeking Him, praying, and believing that He is working even when we cannot see it.
God knows exactly what we need and when we need it. His timing is always perfect. While we wait, He is strengthening our faith, teaching us patience, and preparing us for what is ahead.
The verse says that we will "mount up with wings like eagles." Eagles fly above storms instead of being defeated by them. In the same way, God gives His children the strength to rise above their problems. The storm may still be there, but God helps us soar through it.
The verse also says, "They shall run and not be weary." There are seasons in life when God calls us to move forward quickly in faith and service. When we depend on Him, He provides the energy, wisdom, and courage we need.
Finally, it says, "They shall walk and not faint." Most of life is not spent running; it is spent walking day by day. God promises strength not only for the big moments but also for the ordinary daily journey. Every step we take with Him is supported by His grace.
If you feel weak today, do not give up. Keep trusting God. Keep praying. Keep reading His Word. The same God who strengthened His people in the past will strengthen you today. Your strength may run out, but God's strength never fails.
Let us place our hope in the Lord and trust Him completely. He is faithful, and He will renew our strength. :::
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your promise to renew our strength. When we feel tired, discouraged, or weak, help us to wait on You with faith and patience. Teach us to trust Your timing and Your plans for our lives. Lift us up above every fear and challenge. Fill us with Your peace, courage, and power. Help us to walk faithfully with You every day. In Jesus' name, Amen. 🏻
