From Paradise to Promise: Discovering God’s Grace Through the Fall of Humanity

Day 4: Judgment and Mercy

“The Lord God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them.”
Genesis 3:14-24

God’s justice required that sin be addressed, but His mercy was visible even in the midst of judgment.

Adam and Eve experienced consequences for their rebellion, yet God did not abandon them. He clothed them, cared for them, and gave them hope.

This simple act of providing garments points forward to a greater sacrifice. The covering of their shame required the death of an innocent animal, foreshadowing the sacrifice that would ultimately cover humanity’s sin.

God is both perfectly holy and perfectly loving. He never ignores sin, but He also never stops pursuing sinners.

Reflection Questions
* How have I experienced both God’s discipline and His mercy?
* What does His grace mean to me personally?

~Closing Prayer~
Lord, thank You that Your mercy meets me even in my failures. Help me receive Your grace and walk in obedience to You. Amen.

Remember, God loves you and so do I.
