BARNABAS: A MAN FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT
Acts 11:24 (ESV)
"For he was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith."
Barnabas played a key role in the growth of the early church and in welcoming Saul, who became Paul.
One of the most beautiful descriptions a Christian can receive is this: "full of the Holy Spirit."
Barnabas is not known for spectacular miracles but for his faith, encouragement, and generosity.
He was filled with the Holy Spirit. This was evident in the way he encouraged, trained, and urged others forward.
When we have received the fullness of the Spirit, does it make us more encouraging or more critical? Let us be people who encourage others, who edify others, and who inspire them to move forward for the Lord.
Lord, make me an instrument of encouragement, filled with the Holy Spirit and faith, in Your Church.
