Day 5: The Promise of Redemption
“He will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.”
Genesis 3:15
The Fall is not the end of the story.
In the midst of judgment, God announced a promise. One day a descendant of the woman would defeat the serpent. Christians have long understood this verse as the first glimpse of the coming Messiah.
From the very beginning, God had a plan for redemption.
The Bible is ultimately not a story about humanity finding its way back to God. It is the story of God making a way for humanity to return to Him.
Adam and Eve left the Garden, but God never abandoned His purpose. Through generations, covenants, prophets, and finally through Jesus Christ, He carried out His plan to rescue a fallen world.
The story that began with a forbidden tree reaches its fulfillment at another tree—the cross—where Jesus paid the price for sin and opened the way to eternal life.
