GOD'S WORD FOR THE DAY
“The Danger of Living Without God”
Psalm 10:4
“The wicked in his proud countenance does not seek God; God is in none of his thoughts.”
This is the Word of God. Psalm 10:4 reveals the root of wickedness: a heart so filled with pride that it has no room for God. The wicked person does not seek the Lord, not because God is absent, but because self-sufficiency has taken His place. When people believe they can manage life on their own, they gradually push God to the margins of their thoughts and decisions.
This danger is not limited to openly rebellious people. Even believers can become so occupied with work, ambitions, possessions, or daily concerns that they neglect prayer, Scripture, and dependence on God. A life that forgets God may appear successful outwardly, but it lacks the wisdom, peace, and direction that come from walking with Him.
The antidote to pride is humility before the Lord. As we seek Him daily, we acknowledge our need for His guidance and recognize that every blessing comes from His hand. A heart that continually remembers God will be guarded from the deception of self-reliance.
May God keep us mindful of His presence, humble before His majesty, and eager to seek Him in all that we do. Amen.
Have a blessed day with the Lord.
