Isaiah 42:5-9 GNB SB TEV God created the heavens and stretched them out; he fashioned the earth and all that lives there; he gave life and breath to all its people. And now the LORD God says to his servant,
"I, the LORD, have called you and given you power to see that justice is done on earth. Through you I will make a covenant with all peoples; through you I will bring light to the nations.
You will open the eyes of the blind and set free those who sit in dark prisons.
"I alone am the LORD your God. No other god may share my glory; I will not let idols share my praise.
The things I predicted have now come true. Now I will tell you of new things even before they begin to happen."
Acts 17:24-25 God, who made the world and everything in it, is Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in man-made temples.
Nor does he need anything that we can supply by working for him, since it is he himself who gives life and breath and everything else to everyone.
Isaiah 49:6 The LORD said to me, "I have a greater task for you, my servant. Not only will you restore to greatness the people of Israel who have survived, but I will also make you a light to the nations--so that all the world may be saved."
Luke 2:32 A light to reveal your will to the Gentiles and bring glory to your people Israel."
Acts 13:47 For this is the commandment that the Lord has given us; 'I have made you a light for the Gentiles, so that all the world may be saved.' ".
Acts 26:22-23 But to this very day I have been helped by God, and so I stand here giving my witness to all, to small and great alike. What I say is the very same thing which the prophets and Moses said was going to happen:
that the Messiah must suffer and be the first one to rise from death, to announce the light of salvation to the Jews and to the Gentiles.
