While I was praying in the morning, I drifted into a dream.
I saw a large wedding celebration. It was a significant event, filled with people who had been invited to attend.
As I watched, a famous band arrived. They were well known and highly respected. In the natural world, most people would consider it an honour if they simply appeared at an event. Their reputation opened doors wherever they went.
The band approached the entrance expecting to be welcomed in. They assumed they would be allowed to participate simply because of who they were.
However, the person at the door stopped them and asked for their invitation.
The band did not have one.
The lead member began to protest, pointing to their achievements, popularity, and status. He tried to explain who they were and why they should be allowed entry. Surely their reputation was enough.
But the doorkeeper remained firm.
“You do not have an invitation.”
No amount of influence, talent, or recognition could change the requirement. The wedding belonged to the Bridegroom, and only those who had received an invitation were permitted to enter.
As I reflected on the dream, I felt the Lord highlighting a simple but powerful truth, in His Kingdom, the invitation matters more than the credentials.
Many people spend their lives building a name, seeking influence, gaining recognition, or proving their worth. Yet the Kingdom of God does not operate according to the standards of this world.
The Bridegroom is not looking for the most famous, the most gifted, or the most impressive. He is looking for those who have responded to His invitation.
The invitation is not earned through achievement. It is not purchased through status. It is received through relationship.
There is an invitation being extended today. The King is calling people to come close, to know Him, to walk with Him, and to be part of what He is doing. The question is not, “What are your credentials?” The question is, “Have you responded to the invitation?”
At the wedding feast of the Lamb, it will not be our reputation that grants us entrance. It will be the invitation of the Bridegroom and our response to His call.
The invitation is enough.
