They hurt you.

They betrayed your trust.
They spoke against you.
They left wounds that still ache.

The world says:
Get even.
Fight back.
Hold on to the pain.

But Jesus says:

"Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you." (Matthew 5:44)

These words may be the hardest command Jesus ever gave.

Not because the hurt wasn't real.
Not because forgiveness is easy.

But because love is stronger than hatred.

When we forgive, we do not excuse the wrong.
We refuse to let bitterness rule our hearts.

Jesus calls us to a freedom the world cannot understand:

To love when it costs.
To forgive when it hurts.
To pray when resentment feels easier.

This is how we become more like our Father in Heaven.

Matthew 5:43–48
