“We Are Well Able”

Scripture: And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it. -Numbers 13:30

Thought Of The Day...
This passage drops us right into a moment of decision at the edge of promise. Twelve spies were sent into the land God already said belonged to Israel. Ten came back shaken, fearful, and overwhelmed. Only two—Caleb and Joshua—saw something different.
The difference was not in what they saw… but in how they saw it.
The majority saw giants and concluded, “We cannot.” Caleb saw the same land, the same giants, the same fortified cities—and declared, “We are well able.”
This is the battle that still fights for our lives today: the war between God’s promise and our perception.
The other spies spread what Scripture calls an “evil report.” Not because the land wasn’t real, not because the giants weren’t real—but because their interpretation of the situation was rooted in fear instead of faith. They said, “We were in our own sight as grasshoppers.”
That one phrase reveals the true struggle.
They didn’t just see giants in the land—they became small in their own eyes.
And when you see yourself as defeated, everything God promised looks unreachable.
But Caleb carried a different spirit. He silenced the fear in the room and anchored his confidence in God’s ability, not human limitation. His message was simple but powerful:
“Let us go up at once… for we are well able.”
Faith does not deny the giants. Faith denies the giants the final word.
God never asked Israel to measure the land by their strength. He asked them to trust His promise.
And the same truth stands today: what God has assigned to you is not determined by how strong the obstacle looks, but by how faithful He is.
You are not a grasshopper. You are a carrier of promise.
Something to Think About...
Where in your life have you agreed with fear more than God’s promise? What “giants” have been shaping your self-image instead of your God-image?
God is not asking you to feel strong—He is calling you to believe He is strong in you.

Prayer...
Father God, in the name of Jesus, we come before You with hearts that sometimes tremble when we see the size of our challenges. But today we choose to believe Your report over every voice of fear.
Lord, like Caleb, give us a spirit that silences doubt and rises in bold faith. Break every mindset that says we are not able. Heal every place in us that has agreed with fear, insecurity, and defeat.
We cancel every negative report spoken over our lives, our families, our purpose, and our future. We declare that we will not be moved by what we see, but by what You have spoken.
Lord, strengthen the weary heart. Lift the bowed-down spirit. Remind us that the giants are not greater than You, and the obstacles are not stronger than Your promise.
We receive courage today. We receive boldness today. We receive faith to move forward today.
In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.

Declaration...
I am not a grasshopper—I am a child of God. I will not believe the report of fear. I will believe the report of the Lord.
I am well able to overcome every giant before me. I will go up and possess what God has promised me. No fear will stop me. No obstacle will define me. No opposition will defeat me.
I walk by faith, not by sight. I am strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. What God has promised, I will possess.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
