Good morning to everyone. Grace and Peace be with you.
Yesterday, I spoke of a weird dream and how sin is being flaunted in front of us. I used an example of a spam/fraud caller being called out in public. Personally, I think that would be pretty fun to catch them in the act like that. Make them face the light in their moment of darkness. Now, to be clear, that probably is NOT the same way God would want me to handle that situation, but … wouldn’t you like just one time to stand before the one person who is trying to scam you out of money for an unpaid parking ticket that you never got, back taxes that you don’t owe, or the ‘lawyer’ for your random grandkid who just got arrested and needs so much money … Wouldn’t it be nice to catch them face to face?
Where we will never see those who call us from wherever and try to get our personal information, for their personal gain, we have plenty of people who stand before us every day doing these same things. Why do we not ask them to stop? Why do we not approach them with the Light and show them their darkness?
For example, you buy a cart of food and have a large item on the bottom. You pay for it and get out to the car to load. You realize that you did not pay for that item. Do you take it back and pay for it, or do you call it “oops and oh well”? What if you were in the parking lot and heard someone talking about that very issue? Would you suggest that they blow the store’s mind and go back to pay for it, or would you not say a word? Most of us don’t say a word and feel like they should be grown up enough to make that choice on their own. This is true, but most will make the ‘free’ choice because big corporations won't miss one case of water or one bag of dog food.
Let's break this down on the financial side. Dog food is about $20 a bag. If ten people ‘forget’ to pay in one day, that is a $200 loss. If ten people a day do that all seven days of the week, that is a $1400 loss for the week. If that happens every day for the month, that is a $5600 loss, and if that goes on all year, that is a $67,200 loss for the year. THAT is just one bag of dog food a day.
Now, what if we said something as an encouragement to do right, and just half those people took it to heart that they needed to do the right thing, that number is cut in half. Whether those people are ever recognized for their good deed on earth is irrelevant, but their actions will be recognized on judgment day, when it matters. We are charged with building His kingdom. What if we were building it one unpaid item at a time?
The point is more than just missing an item on our carts. When we see wrong happening in our faces, we need to confront it in Love. We do have the right to choose our paths, but if no one cares enough to tell us how much God Loves us, then why wouldn’t we make the choice that the enemy lays out for us, because he uses such compelling logic.
Today, my prayer is that God opens my eyes to see areas where I can share His love and give alternative choices to those who are headed in a dark direction. I pray that He will give me the words, the demeanor, and the tone of Love and not condemnation. That is when the enemy catches on to what I am doing, that the Lord blocks his attempts to stop me, and that seeds are planted. Whether the person receives and steps forward is their choice, but I want to be obedient to the Father. I pray that you will do the same.
Be blessed.
