THE ETERNAL SABBATH:

A BIBLICAL DEFENSE OF GOD’S LAW BEFORE AND AFTER ISRAEL.

PAUL AND THE SABBATH:
Paul did not ignore or reject the Sabbath. Paul himself kept the Sabbath and preached on it regularly:

Acts 13:42-44 – Paul preached on the Sabbath, and the Gentiles asked him to do so again the next Sabbath.

Acts 16:13 – Paul sought a place of prayer on the Sabbath.

Acts 17:2 – Paul’s custom was to reason in the synagogue every Sabbath.

Acts 18:4 – Paul reasoned every Sabbath, persuading both Jews and Greeks.

PAUL TAUGHT THAT FAITH DOES NOT ABOLISH THE LAW:
Romans 3:31 – "Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law."

Romans 7:12 – "Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good."

THE SABBATH PRECEDED MOSES AND ISRAEL :
The Sabbath was instituted at Creation, long before the nation of Israel existed:

Genesis 2:2-3 – "And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made."

IT WAS ALSO REAFFIRMED BEFORE THE GIVING OF THE TEN COMMANDMENTS:
Exodus 16:23-30 – Before Sinai, God instructed Israel to gather manna for six days and rest on the Sabbath.

THE LAW IS FOR ALL PEOPLE, NOT JUST ISRAEL:
God required strangers (Gentiles) among Israel to keep His laws, proving they were not exclusive to Jews:

Exodus 12:49 – "One law shall be to him that is homeborn, and unto the stranger that sojourneth among you."

Leviticus 24:22 – "Ye shall have one manner of law, as well for the stranger, as for one of your own country: for I am the Lord your God."

Isaiah 56:6-7 – God promised blessings to Gentiles who keep the Sabbath.

THE TEN COMMANDMENTS PRECEDED ISRAEL:
Sin is breaking God’s law (1 John 3:4). This means the law existed before Israel, since sin was present before Moses:

Lucifer’s Fall – Lucifer broke God’s commandments before humanity existed:

Pride (Exodus 20:3, 17) – He sought to be like God (Isaiah 14:12-14).

Lying (Exodus 20:16) – He deceived a third of the angels (Revelation 12:4).

Murder (Exodus 20:13) – Jesus said Satan was a murderer from the beginning (John 8:44).

Adam and Eve’s Sin – They broke God’s law in Eden:

Idolatry (Exodus 20:3) – They obeyed Satan instead of God (Genesis 3:6).

Coveting (Exodus 20:17) – Eve desired the fruit (Genesis 3:6).

Bearing false witness (Exodus 20:16) – Satan lied, and they accepted it (Genesis 3:4-5).

Since sin is breaking God’s law (1 John 3:4), and sin existed before Moses, the Ten Commandments must have existed before Israel.

THE SABBATH IS FOR ALL PEOPLE:
The Sabbath remains relevant even in the New Earth:

Isaiah 66:22-23 – "For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the Lord, so shall your seed and your name remain. And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the Lord."

THE SABBATH IS ETERNAL AND WAS NEVER ABOLISHED. Jesus Himself said:
Mark 2:27 – "The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath."

The Bible consistently upholds the Sabbath as part of God's universal moral law. It was given at Creation, kept before Moses, required of Gentiles, broken by Lucifer and Adam, and will continue into eternity.
