Please see the I00words.ca daily Bible reading program ( complete it over two years ) and blog by the late Rev David Mainse , which is just below this Post.
Today's scripture section is to reveal the confession of Peter, the Lord's disciple/.
My additional comment to today's ''offering' is this ..
" A raised / uprighted rock was used in ‘Old Testament times’ as a confession or Testimony to a significant event or proclamation of the importance of that place . We see this in the life of Jacob who wrestled with ‘a man’ until dawn and Jacob was subsequently re-named Israel. He later raised another rock upright to attest to the life and death of his dearly beloved wife Rachel: the mother of Joseph who died almost immediately after giving birth to baby brother Benjamin.
We see raised rock markers even in the west as ‘boundary statements’ or to proclaim other significant information to all passing travellers. Simon Peter would be a ‘living and mobile rock’ raised from a background of some failure and denial – to attest to and proclaim Jesus. Many of us can attest to similar experience. Isn’t God so Wonderful as to not permanently cast us aside? I have this honor in my late life to share Him digitally with many thousands on Lordsbook.com "
