Note to self!

In some situations, it only takes a few bad things to make us forget all the good. Then there's another side many people don't consider. Sometimes there are so many bad things that if you don't hold tightly to the little bit of good, you might go insane. So you cling to what you believe is good.
But when the bad begins to outweigh the good, there comes a point when you have to ask yourself: Why am I allowing something that hurts more than it helps to linger in my life?
You see the destruction. You feel the pain it causes. You may even feel responsible because you keep holding on to the belief that "God has a plan." But what if the situation continues, not because it's God's plan, but because of your own determination to keep making it work?
Even when your intentions are good, many people will see that goodness and walk right over it. Why? Because you are forgiving. Because you seek what is best for others.
But if you're reading this today, constantly filled with tears from arguments you didn't start, praying for apologies that will never come, maybe—just maybe—this isn't God's plan. Maybe it's your own stubbornness to do right by people who don't see you as a friend, a helpmate, or someone to cherish. Instead, they see you as someone to take advantage of while convincing themselves they are the good person.
My friend, you are worthy of sacrifice. You are worthy of real friendship. You are worthy of being cared for.
If you have someone in your life who constantly looks past your needs just to make themselves feel okay, this is not God's desire for you. God loves you and desires to bring peace, even into the most difficult situations.
The devil loves to steal that peace.
