BIBLE TEXT: JAMES 1:19 Let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath. EXHORTATION: One of the differences between the flesh and the Spirit is this: the flesh reacts quickly; the Spirit responds wisely. Many conflicts are intensified because people react before thinking, listening, or praying. But walking in the Spirit teaches us restraint. Restraint is not weakness. It is strength under control. The Spirit helps us: • pause before speaking, • listen before concluding, • and respond without being ruled by emotion. This is especially important in difficult conversations, moments of misunderstanding, and situations that provoke frustration. Today, do not allow emotions to lead you impulsively. Slow down. Listen carefully. Respond prayerfully. A Spirit-led response can prevent unnecessary damage. PRAYER: Father, thank You for the wisdom Your Spirit provides. Help us to respond with patience and self-control. Deliver us from impulsive reactions and emotional haste. Teach us to reflect Christ in difficult moments. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
