*Rust Will Bear Witness...*
"Your gold and silver are corroded, and their corrosion will be a witness against you and will eat your flesh like fire. You have heaped up treasure in the last days" (James 5:3).
During His earthly ministry, the Lord Jesus Christ revealed many truths about the Kingdom of Heaven to the people. On this earth, man is transient, and the treasures he accumulates are equally impermanent. However, the good deeds performed during one's lifetime are neither stolen by thieves nor destroyed by moths and rust.
That is why Jesus Christ taught: *Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal* (Matthew 6:20).
James writes that if even treasures gathered through righteous means can be ruined by moth and rust, then those amassed through unrighteous means will corrode and testify against us.
In accordance with the verse, *For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also* (Matthew 6:21), let us perform the good deeds God expects of us and store up those treasures in heaven.
Amen.
