There have been a number of occasions in my life as a born-again Christian ( over 60 years ) , when I have prophesied in my native language in a gathering of Believers, BUT it was NEVER with ongoing regularity and I trust ALWAYS with a positive spirit of encouragement.
I have also recognized on rare occasions, an imminent need to utter a prophetic word in an unknown
( to me ) tongue , which someone else has interpreted in a language understood by the congregation.
I would NOT describe, accept or carry the title of PROPHET and those occasions have been quite rare.
Likewise, I would never accept or Self-proclaim a title of APOSTLE because it is simply not true and probably in 99% of the time, is a tactic of Satan to elevate oneself.
There are ministries of Teaching, evangelism and pastoral care and helps of various types.
We can ALL share the Gospel in numerous ways with those who have not yet heard in their hearts.
Many of us ( older and longer in The Faith ) can help teach and guide those who are newer in 'The Way'
My understanding is that the original term of 'Bishop' is simply interchangeable with the role of pastor or shepherd.
This is simply my own observations and concerns ..
We are ALL called to WORSHIP God in spirit and in Truth and in such a moment-by-moment attitude and experience, there is no room for self promotion.
We are preparing for Eternity.
