Gratitude
By David Massey
Gratitude is not passive acceptance. It is the courage to look at doubt, loss, chaos, and fear, and still say, “I am still here.”
Anyone can be grateful when life is smooth. The real test comes when it is not. Hard seasons try to convince us that thankfulness is unrealistic. But gratitude in hard times is not pretending everything is fine. It is choosing to see what is still good, still present, still holding.
When life feels heavy, slow down. Name one thing you are thankful for. Then another. Gratitude does not erase pain, but it keeps bitterness from taking root. It keeps your heart steady when the circumstances are not.
“Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good. His steadfast love endures forever.” Psalm 136:1, ESV
If you can find even one small reason to be grateful today, you are already on the path back to strength.
