RESTORING WEARY SERVANTS
1 Kings 19:7
"The angel of the Lord came a second time and touched him, saying, 'Get up and eat, for the journey is too much for you.'"
After the victory on Mount Carmel, Elijah fell into deep discouragement. How easily this happens to us too! We cross valleys right after reaching the mountain peaks.
Even the most hardened servants can experience weariness.
God doesn't initially reproach Elijah for his discouragement; He restores him before entrusting him with a new mission.
There are times when we need to rest, to recover before continuing. When we feel tired or even discouraged, we know that spiritual rest is part of divine wisdom.
"Come to me...", "Turn to me..." are among the calls that God makes. So turn to the Lord, you who are weary and weary. He will restore you.
Cry out to Him: Lord, renew my strength and lift me up when I am discouraged.
