JOURNEY THROUGH GENESIS 1
The Bible opened with the phrase, "in the beginning God created".
This phrase conjures up a fact that there is a difference between God and creation. It shows that One created and the other was created. God was situated atop creation and made the very Architect of the origin of created things.
In the same Book of Genesis we met the same God crafting and designing Man in His image and likeness to become His Co Creator .
If Bible the Book of God , opened with the introduction of God and His nature and works, what will our own individual Books open with about our nature and works?
What will our own individual Books open with about us since we are God's co creators or can't we imagine that each one of us has a book telling our our nature and odyssey on earth?
The creating God was portrayed as being visionary and His vision was expressed in His creation. Does our own life portray the life of vision like that of the God who created us to create?
It follows then that God created man and wanted the man to create the way He created. Man was to be the miniature God, afterall in psalm 82:6, Bible called men gods and sons of the Most High. So the God whom the curtain of scripture upon being opened was portrayed to us as being creative made man to be creative too afterall same God told him to...subdue the earth through imaginativeness and creativity which incidentally is the human's exclusive prerogative right amongst God's created things on this earth.
The God we were introduced to,was the One who brought light out of darkness. He brought order out of the disorderly earth that had no form or shape. He caused chaos to have form and brought fullness out of emptiness.
The God we were introduced to in the opening sentence of Genesis was purposeful, orderly and made things that advanced orderliness and beauty .
Step by step He brought light, life , beauty, symmetry, grace, love, candour and a whole lot positive energy and value to His creation.
Does our own life advance orderliness and create beauty? Does our creation cause light to emerge in the midst of human darkness? Or does our own life find pleasure and penny from turning human light into darkness? Does our vision create pain or poetry?
In the beginning we met the God who created beautiful things and we are part of His beautiful masterpieces but He has handed to us the right to continue His creation. Let us be encouraged to create according to the pattern we saw Him creating because that is the only way to show Him thanks and praise.
At the end of time, every man's work and worth will be tried by fire by the same God who created us to create.
