Kingdom Carriers | Mid-Week Reflection

Many of us spend our lives seeking God's direction.

“Lord, what should I do?”“Lord, where should I go?”“Lord, what is Your will?”

Yet as I reflect on Scripture, I am struck by another thought.

What if God is sometimes more interested in developing our discernment than simply giving us direction?

Direction helps us make decisions.

Discernment helps us recognise His voice.

Direction may guide us through a moment.

Discernment shapes how we walk for a lifetime.

The writer of Hebrews speaks of those who,
“...have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.”— Hebrews 5:14

Notice the language.

Not merely instructed. Not merely informed. But trained.

Discernment is formed through walking with God, learning His ways, and becoming familiar with His voice.

The goal of the Kingdom is not simply that we know where to go next.

It is that we become the kind of people who can recognise His leading wherever He takes us.

Perhaps one of God's greatest gifts is not a map for the journey, but the grace to walk closely enough with Him that we know His voice when He speaks.

Grace and peace,

Jacob
