BUILDING ON THE ROCK
```TEXT: MATTHEW 7:24-29```
```KEY VERSE:``` "Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock" (MATTHEW 7:24).
Jesus closed the Sermon on the Mount with a story of two builders. Both heard the same words. Both built houses. Both faced the same storm. The only difference was the foundation. One dug deep and anchored to the rock. The other chose the sand because it was easier, faster, cheaper. When the rain fell and the winds blew, only one house stood. Hearing is not enough. Doing makes the difference.
Three truths from the wise builder: One, storms are certain. βAnd the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew.β Jesus never said βifβ a storm comes. He said βwhen.β Following Him does not exempt you from trouble; it prepares you for it. Two, obedience is the foundation. βWhosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them.β The Rock is Christ, and building on Him means putting His words to work β forgive, pray, trust, give, love your enemies. Calvary is where His words cost Him everything, so they can save us. Three, collapse is preventable. βAnd it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.β The house didnβt survive because the storm was weak. It stood because the foundation was strong.
What are you building your life on this Friday? Opinions, money, feelings, the crowd? They shift like sand. Or are you building on the unchanging Word of Christ? Check the foundation before the flood. Read it, believe it, obey it. When the winds beat on your house β marriage, health, work, faith β you will not fall with Jesus underneath you.
βπ½```THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:``` Storms reveal your foundation β build on Christ, and you will stand when everything else falls.
