Mark 1:3-8:16 HCSB Apologetics SB
Mark 1:3 A voice of one crying out in the wilderness; Prepare the way for the Lord; make his paths straight!'
The Baptism of Jesus
Mark 1:9 In those days Jesus came from Nazarethin Galilee and was baptized in the Jordan by John.
Mark 1:11 And a voice came from heaven: "You are my beloved Son; with you I am well-pleased."
The First Disciples
Mark 1:16 As he passed alongside the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew, Simon's brother, casting a net into the sea--for they were fisherman.
Mark 2:3 They came to him bringing a paralytic, carried by four of yjeem.
Mark 2:9 Which is easier; to say to the paralytic, 'Your sins are forgiven,' or to say, 'Get up, take the mat, and walk'?
Mark 2:11 "I tell you; get up, take your mat, and go home."
Mark 2:16 When the scribes who are Pharisees saw that he was eating with sinners and tax collectors, they asked his disciples, "Why does he eat with tax collectors and sinners?"
Mark 3:3 He told the man with the shriveled hand, "Stand before us."
Mark 3:9 Then he told his disciples to have a small boat ready for him, so that the crowd wouldn't crush him.
Mark 3:11 Whenever the unclean spirits saw him, they fell down before him and cried out, "You are the Son of God!"
Mark 3:16 He appointed the Twelve; To Simon, he gave the name Peter,
Mark 4:3 "Listen! Consider the sower who went out to sow.
Mark 4:9 Then he said, "Let anyone who has ears to hear listen."
Mark 4:11 He answered them, "The secret of the kingdom of God has been given to you, but to those outside, everything comes in parables
Mark 4:16 And others are like seed sown on rocky ground. When they hear the word, immediately they receive it with joy.
Mark 5:3 He lived in the tombs, and no one was able to restrain him anymore--not even with a chain--
Mark 5:9 "What is your name?" he asked him. "My name is Legion," he answered him, because we are many."
Mark 5:11 A large herd of pigs were there, feeding on the hillside.
Mark 5:16 Those who had seen it described to them what had happened to the demon-possessed man and told about the pigs.
Mark 6:3 Isn't this the carpenter, the son of Mary, and the brother of Janes, Joses, Judas, and Simon? And aren't his sisters here with us?" So they were offended by him.
Mark 6:9 but to wear sandals and not put on an extra shirt.
Mark 6:11 If any place does not welcome you or listen to you, when you leave there, shake the dust off your feet as a testimony against them."
Mark 6:16 When Herod heard of it, he said, "John, the one I beheaded, has been raised!"
Mark 7:3 (For the Pharisees and all the Jews do not eat unless they give their hands a ceremonial washing, keeping the tradition of the elders.
Mark 7:9 He also said to them, "You have a fine way of invalidating God's command in order to set up your tradition!
Mark 7:11 But you say, "If anyone tells his father or mother: whatever benefit you might have received from me is corban'" (that is, an offering devoted to God),
Mark 7:16 "If anyone has ears to hear, let him listen."
Mark 8:3 If I send them home hungry, they will collapse on the way, and some of them have come a long distance."
Mark 8:9 About four thousand were there. He dismissed them.
The Leaven of the Pharisees and Herod
Mark 8:11 The Pharisees came and began to argue with him, demanding of him a sign from heaven to test him.
Mark 8:16 They were discussing among themselves that they did not have any bread.
