Good morning to everyone. Grace and Peace be with you.
Overcast skies loomed over us yesterday. Ailing vendors were unable to show up. We were behind the fire station down by the park, and if you did not know it was there … you would miss it. I was the only outside vendor, and I was kind of off by myself. I purposefully chose that spot in the thoughts of being the first in the outside line; however, when you are the only outside vendor, your logic did not help your cause. The event coordinator apologized for my inconvenience, and I let her know that it was all good. That everything would work out. I explained that it was all in God’s hands. Not to worry. This was about two hours into the event. Not one person came by my booth. Now, to be fair, when I go to flea markets, if I do not want to walk down a lane, I take a bird's-eye view only.
As the morning moved along and noon came, more people started coming back to see what was there. As they arrived, I started greeting them from afar. Most were cordial and just did the inside booths; however, one couple enjoyed the playful banter and opted to come meet me up close. This created even more playful banter and ultimately a sale. Shortly after that, more greetings from afar, and I offered the child with them a tiny Jesus, so he and his mom got him one and one for his sister. While we were talking about all the cool colors and that he was almost as old as me (4), his mom explained that it was her birthday and wanted to know about my books. We had a good conversation, and she opted to make my books her birthday present to herself.
God was totally present.
Later, the event coordinator returned with a bottle of water and offered me another apology and also a spot inside. I told her it was all good. I was right where I was supposed to be. She and I had another good conversation … a spirit-filled one. At the end of the event, I thanked her for the opportunity and expressed how I felt it was a success. I made some new friends. I met another author who publishes like I do. They gave me some details on different marketing tools and insight into their own journey. For me, yesterday was a success. She thanked me.
I could dwell on different things that were not positive, or I could enjoy the blessings that I was granted. I choose His blessings. Yesterday was actually the best-selling day I have had. So, why would I look at the darkness when the Light was so bright?
Today, as we go to His house and fill our tanks with His Love, give thanks to the many blessings that surround you, regardless of any darkness that may be attempting to get in.
Be blessed.
**Be at rest once more, O my soul, for the Lord has been good to you. – Psalm 116:7
