You know, when it rains it pours. In the past 48 hours, my family, like many others, have faced some back to back challenges.

Friday evening a couple of the children were injured while playing in the rain & falling down wet stairs. Then late Friday night, I had to take my daughter to the ER, where we spent nearly seven hours to learn she fractured her elbow.

Running on just a few hours of sleep we realized on Saturday morning that heavy rains caused the house we were staying in for the weekend to flood. However, with the help of our neighbors, we worked together to remove as much water as possible from the garage & lower level.

Later, the power went out for a while, just as another storm arrived, bringing more flooding, limited phone service & no internet which caused me to miss sharing a message with you all. Then this morning, we woke up to find the house flooded again due to the ongoing heavy rains overnight.

But despite these trials, I am reminded of the importance of strength in numbers when facing adversity & the words God spoke in Joshua 1:9 when he said "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."

Even though the weekend didn't go as planned, I find comfort in knowing that things could have been worse & that God promises He won't give us more than we can handle.

Let our trials help to serve as a reminder for us as well as for you to continue to trust in His presence & grace through every challenge.

And that's my few cents worth! I pray everyone has a blessed Sunday!
