THE CROSS OF CALVARY
πΌ
MONDAY 29TH JUNE, 2026
```TEXT: PHILIPPIANS 2:5-11```
```KEY VERSE:``` "And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross" (PHILIPPIANS 2:8).
Paul lifts the curtain on the mind of Christ. The Son of God did not cling to His rights. He emptied Himself, took the form of a servant, and walked the road to Calvary. He stepped down so we could be lifted up. The Cross was not forced on Him β He chose it. Humility went before honor, obedience before exaltation, death before glory.
Three truths from the humility of the Cross: One, Christ chose the low place. βHe humbled himself.β He left heavenβs throne for a manger, traded worship for mockery, exchanged glory for a cross. Pride says, βI deserve better.β Calvary says, βI will become less so you can become more.β Two, obedience was costly. βBecame obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.β Not just death, but the shameful death of a criminal. He obeyed when it hurt, when it was lonely, when it was unfair. Three, exaltation follows surrender. βWherefore God also hath highly exalted him.β The way up is down. The cross came before the crown. The tomb came before the throne.
Where is God calling you to humble yourself this Monday? To forgive when you want to fight, to serve when you want to be seen, to obey when it costs? Donβt fight the low place. Jesus found it, walked it, and won from it. If you bow with Him, you will rise with Him. The same Father who raised Christ will lift you in due time.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, You humbled Yourself for me. Today I choose the same mind. Break my pride and teach me to obey, even when it hurts. Help me to serve without seeking applause and to trust You with the outcome. I lay down my rights at the foot of the Cross. Lift me as You see fit, for Your glory alone, in Your name I pray. Amen.
May the Lord clothe you with humility today. May His grace help you obey in hard places, His Spirit keep you from striving, and His power exalt you in due season, through Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen. πΌ
