Did you know?
Faith is not the same thing as feeling.

Many sincere Christians become discouraged because they do not always feel joyful, close to God, or spiritually strong. They think, “If I really had faith, surely I would feel it.”

But Scripture does not say, “We walk by feeling.” It says, “We walk by faith, not by sight” (2 Corinthians 5:7).

Feelings change. Emotions rise and fall. There are times when David cried, “Why are you cast down, O my soul?” yet he still chose to hope in God (Psalm 42:11). There are times when the heart feels weak, but God’s word remains sure.

Faith is not proved by always feeling strong. Faith is shown when we hold onto God’s promises even when our feelings are low.

Abraham believed God’s promise when circumstances seemed impossible (Romans 4:20–21). Job said, “Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him” (Job 13:15). Jesus Himself felt forsaken on the cross, yet still committed Himself to the Father (Matthew 27:46; Luke 23:46).

So when you cannot feel it, keep walking.
When joy feels distant, keep trusting.
When prayer feels dry, keep praying.
When God feels silent, keep believing His word.

Your feelings are not the foundation.
God’s word is.

“For we walk by faith, not by sight.”
2 Corinthians 5:7
