*My Unbelief...*
"Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, 'Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!'" (Mark 9:24)
A man brought his son—who had been possessed by a mute, unclean spirit since childhood—to Jesus' disciples. However, because the disciples were unable to cast it out, they brought the boy to Jesus.
The father pleaded with Jesus, saying, "It has often thrown him into fire and water to kill him. If You can do anything, have compassion on us and help us."
When Jesus said to him, "If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes" (Mark 9:23), the man cried out with tears, "Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!" Unbelief had arisen in the father's heart because Jesus' disciples had failed to heal the boy.
Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, saying, "You deaf and mute spirit, I command you, come out of him and enter him no more!" Then, screaming and convulsing him violently, it came out.
Even after years of being saved and accepting God, unbelief can sometimes arise within us when certain things are delayed. Like that father, we need not hesitate to express our unbelief. Even if we fail to express it, God knows it. So, shall we look to the Lord and say, "Help me overcome my unbelief"?
Amen.
