They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness" (LAMENTATIONS 3:22-23). Jeremiah wrote these words from the ashes. Jerusalem had fallen, the temple was burned, and his heart was broken. Yet in the darkest chapter, he found the brightest hope: God’s mercy. He didn’t say, “My strength is new every morning.” He said, “His mercies are new every morning.” When we deserved judgment, God gave us Calvary. When we deserve to be consumed, He gives compassion instead. Three truths from new morning mercies: One, mercy keeps us alive. “It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed.” You didn’t make it to July by luck or strength. You are here because mercy held you. The Cross is mercy in action — God took the judgment we earned. Two, mercy is fresh daily. “They are new every morning.” Yesterday’s failure does not cancel today’s grace. What you need for today is not leftover mercy from last month. It’s new, tailored for this 1st of July. Three, mercy leads to hope. “Therefore will I hope in him. The LORD is good unto them that wait for him” (verses 24-25). Quiet waiting is not wasted time when mercy is working. What does your new month look like? Bills, deadlines, unanswered prayers, silent battles? Start it at the Cross. Before you check your phone, check in with mercy. His compassions have not failed, and they will not start failing today. Great is His faithfulness — He was faithful in June, and He will be faithful in July. Prayer Faithful Father, I thank You that I am not consumed. Your mercies kept me through last month, and they will carry me through this new month. I receive new mercy for this day — mercy for my failures, mercy for my fears, mercy for my family. Teach me to wait quietly and hope in You. Let July be marked by Your goodness and my trust, in Jesus’ name. Amen. May the Lord’s new mercies greet you this morning. May His faithfulness go before you in July, His compassion cover every need, and His goodness follow you all the days of this month, through Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen. 🙏🏼
