Daily Bread Fellowship – Faith in the Midst of Trials
Mark 9:23
“And Jesus said to him, ‘If you can! All things are possible for one who believes.’”
There are seasons in life when our burdens seem too heavy to bear. Illness may weaken our bodies, grief may break our hearts, and trials may leave us wondering how we can continue. In such moments, we often feel like the desperate father who came to Jesus seeking help for his suffering son.
The father wanted to believe, but his faith was mixed with fear and uncertainty. Yet he came to the right place—he came to Jesus.
Many of us know what it is like to have faith and doubts at the same time. We believe God’s promises, yet our hearts sometimes tremble under the weight of our circumstances. The wonderful truth of this passage is that Jesus does not reject weak and struggling believers. He invites us to bring our fears, our tears, and even our doubts to Him.
Our hope is not found in the strength of our faith but in the strength of our Savior. The Lord who calmed the storm, healed the sick, and raised the dead is the same Lord who walks beside His people today.
Perhaps your situation seems impossible. Remember that nothing is impossible with God. He may remove the trial, or He may give you the grace to endure it. He may heal immediately, or He may teach you to trust Him more deeply through the suffering. In every circumstance, He remains faithful.
Therefore, do not give up. Keep praying. Keep trusting. Keep looking to Christ.
And when your faith feels weak, simply pray:
“Lord, I believe; help my unbelief.”
He hears that prayer, and He will never forsake His children.
Soli Deo Gloria.
