Revelation 22:15–21: "Jesus Is Coming Soon—Are You Ready?"
Bible Verse: "He who testifies to these things says, 'Surely I am coming soon.' Amen. Come, Lord Jesus!" — Revelation 22:20
Good morning, brothers and sisters in Christ.
As we come to the final verses of the Bible, we are reminded of a powerful truth: Jesus Christ is coming again. These closing words are not meant to create fear but to fill our hearts with hope, faith, and readiness.
In Revelation 22:15, we see a clear contrast between those who choose to reject God and those who belong to Him. God calls His people to live holy lives, turning away from sin and walking in obedience. Holiness is not about being perfect; it is about surrendering our lives to Christ every day.
In verses 16 and 17, Jesus identifies Himself as the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright Morning Star. Then comes one of the most beautiful invitations in Scripture: "Let the one who is thirsty come." Salvation is a free gift. No one is excluded. Anyone who comes to Jesus with faith can receive the living water and eternal life.
Verses 18 and 19 remind us to honor God's Word. We are not to add to it or take away from it. God's Word is complete, true, and trustworthy. It is our guide for life and the foundation of our faith.
Finally, in verse 20, Jesus says, "Surely I am coming soon." This promise should encourage us to stay faithful, love one another, share the Gospel, and keep our eyes fixed on Christ. Like the apostle John, our response should be, "Amen. Come, Lord Jesus!"
As we wait for His return, let us live each day with faith, hope, and love. May we be ready whenever He comes, serving Him faithfully and pointing others to His saving grace.
Closing Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the promise that Jesus is coming again. Help us to live holy and faithful lives, standing firmly on Your Word. Fill us with Your Holy Spirit so that we may shine as lights in this world and share the hope of the Gospel with others. Keep us ready for the return of our Lord Jesus Christ. In His precious name we pray. Amen.
