THE CROSS OF CALVARY
🏼

FRIDAY 3RD JULY, 2026

```TEXT: 2 CORINTHIANS 5:17-21```
```KEY VERSE:``` "For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him" (2 CORINTHIANS 5:21).

Paul unveils the great exchange of Calvary. On that cross, something holy and terrible happened. The sinless Son took on our sin, and we who were sinful took on His righteousness. He was treated as we deserved so we could be treated as He deserves. This is not behavior modification. This is position transformation. At the Cross, your record changed.

Three truths from the exchange at Calvary: One, He became sin for us. “He hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin.” Jesus didn’t just carry sin. He was made sin. The Father turned His face because your guilt was laid on His Son. Two, we become righteous in Him. “That we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” You don’t work for it. You receive it. When God looks at you in Christ, He doesn’t see your failures. He sees His Son’s perfection. Three, reconciliation is now our message. “God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself… and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation” (verses 18-19). Because the Cross settled the war, we now carry the peace treaty.

Are you still trying to earn what Jesus already exchanged? Still measuring yourself by your worst day? Look to the Cross again this Friday. He wore your rags so you could wear His robe. He took your curse so you could have His blessing. Stand in that righteousness. Then go and tell a broken world: be reconciled to God.

Prayer
Righteous Father, I stand amazed at the exchange of Calvary. Jesus became sin for me so I could become Your righteousness in Him. Forgive me for living like I’m still condemned. Help me to walk today in the freedom of a clean record. Let me carry Your message of reconciliation to someone who needs hope. Thank You that the Cross did it all, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

May the Lord clothe you in His righteousness today. May shame lose its voice, grace rule your heart, and your life declare the great exchange of the Cross, through Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen. 🏼
