NOT EVERY OPENED DOOR IS MEANT FOR YOU: EVEN PRISON HAS DOORS!
Grace, peace, and the uncompromising, flesh-crucifying fire of the Holy Ghost to the Beloved, the altar-dwellers, and the true disciples of Jesus Christ!
Today, the Spirit of the Lord is bringing a severe, tear-stained apostolic rebuke to a generation that has lost the ancient art of spiritual discernment. We have raised a Charismatic church that is addicted to "Open Doors." We celebrate every financial increase, every new relationship, every job offer, and every sudden opportunity as if it automatically came from the Throne of Grace.
Hear me by the Spirit: We have equated convenience with divine endorsement! But the most dangerous deception in the realm of the spirit is believing that because a door opened easily, God is the one who unlocked it.
Let us open the surgical book of the Spirit and shatter this terrifying illusion. Listen to me: Slaughterhouses have doors. Cages have doors. Prisons have doors. And the enemy will gladly open a door for you if it means locking you inside a spiritual penitentiary!
The Jonah Trap: The Illusion of Convenience (Jonah 1:3)
When Jonah rebelled against the Word of the Lord to go to Nineveh, he fled to Joppa. And look at the terrifying sequence of events that followed his disobedience:
"But Jonah arose to flee to Tarshish from the presence of the Lord. He went down to Joppa, and found a ship going to Tarshish; so he paid the fare, and went down into it, to go with them to Tarshish from the presence of the Lord."
— Jonah 1:3 (NKJV)
Look at how seamlessly everything fell into place!
He needed a ship, and a ship was waiting.
He needed a destination, and it was heading exactly where he wanted to go.
He needed a ticket, and he had the exact funds to pay the fare.
If Jonah were in the modern church, he would have grabbed a microphone on Sunday morning and given a testimony: "Praise God, the Lord opened a door for me to go to Tarshish! The timing was perfect!"
But it was not an open door of favor; it was a demonic conveyor belt to a maritime graveyard! The devil will gladly provide the ship, the funds, and the perfect timing if it takes you away from the presence of the Lord! Just because the visa was approved, just because the loan was granted, just because the man proposed, does NOT mean it is the will of God!
The David Test: The Trap of Carnal Vindication (1 Samuel 24)
Look at David hiding in the Cave of Adullam. King Saul, the man trying to murder him, wanders into the exact same cave alone and falls asleep.
David’s men—his carnal prayer partners—look at the situation and say: "This is the day of which the Lord said to you, ‘Behold, I will deliver your enemy into your hand, that you may do to him as it seems good to you’" (1 Sam 24:4).
The door was wide open! The path to the throne was clear! David could have killed Saul, taken the crown, and justified it with a prophetic scripture. But David had spiritual discernment. He realized that the "open door" was actually a trap! If he killed Saul, he would have stepped through the door of murder, bypassed divine protocol, and forfeited the anointing of a righteous king. He refused to walk through a door that required him to violate his consecration!
The Prophetic Verdict: How to Test the Door
Beloved, the devil is a master of counterfeit opportunities. He knows your frustrations, he knows your delayed promises, and he will present an "Ishmael" when you are tired of waiting for your "Isaac."
How do you test the door?
Does it require you to compromise your altar? If an open door requires you to skip prayer, abandon your spiritual covering, or compromise your purity to maintain it, it is a prison!
Does it feed your flesh or your spirit? An open door from God will demand greater dependency on Him. An open door from the enemy will make you arrogant, independent, and self-reliant.
Is there peace in the Secret Place? Never judge a door by how good it looks on the outside; judge it by the witness of the Holy Ghost in your spirit!
Stop walking blindly into every opportunity! God loves you enough to shut doors in your face to keep you out of a spiritual cage!
A Prayer of Discernment and Deliverance from Counterfeits
"Lord God Almighty, the Keeper of the Keys of David, I fall on my face and I repent! I repent for my spiritual blindness. I repent for celebrating convenience and calling it Your will. I repent for chasing 'open doors' without consulting the Holy Ghost! Father, give me the terrifying gift of spiritual discernment! Shut every door the enemy has opened to distract me, to defile me, or to imprison my destiny! Even if it hurts my flesh, even if it delays my ambition, SHUT THE WRONG DOORS! I refuse to board a ship to Tarshish. I refuse to be seduced by counterfeit opportunities. Anchor my soul to the Secret Place, and let me only walk through the doors heavily guarded by the Blood of Jesus Christ. In the uncompromising, holy, and terrifying name of Jesus Christ, Amen!"
If the Holy Ghost just shattered your Charismatic illusions, and you are desperately asking God to shut every demonic door in your life today, type "AMEN" in the comments right now as a public declaration of your surrender!
