Good morning to everyone. Grace and Peace be with you.
Well, I found a surprise last night. I went upstairs to get something, which is rare in itself … I only usually go up there for the bathroom, but I digress … I went up there and found that the spare bedroom had sustained storm damage from the piece of barn that bounced off our roof. That is the only room in the house that has plaster and lathe still in it. From where the piece of barn hit and with the force that it hit, it broke off chunks of plaster in the ceiling and along the south wall. When the storm hit, I saw that I had not inherited a new skylight and all my roof pieces were intact; I never thought of checking this room for damage. Now we are a month into the insurance claim, and fortunately we have not settled yet, but now I have to get another estimate to fix that room and hopefully get it done before the kids come next month. So today is a busy little day of phone calls, appointments, and errands.
A positive note for last night is that I was able to finally work on the anthology. I did a little research to find out the number of stories that would be appropriate; I had guessed right. Then I went back through my list of stories I had originally chosen and made some changes to that list. I believe that I have a title now and a potential cover. It was at least four hours of work, but I feel like I have at least accomplished something. I was beginning to get aggravated that I had not found time to work on it and that it may not be finished before the end of the challenge. Not that it has to be, but I have a goal and would like to meet it.
Yesterday was a beautiful day. A solid and clear message at His house, fellowship and lunch with friends, a gorgeous day to embrace. A terrific day indeed. Even with the new finding of the damaged room and a shrinking timeline for proper repair, yesterday was still a great day. Today the temperature is wonderful. Today will be another great day, another blessed day. It will be busy, but it will be fantastic. Today is just another example of how I can make a choice to be stressed about things out of my control or blessed by the One who is in control. I will have to remind myself frequently of this as my flesh will try to take over, but I am positive that no matter what happens, it will be a great day.
Will you have a great day with me? Will you choose to let Him who created you be in control and know that He has a plan? Will you choose to not let the chaos and negativity of the world consume you, and when it begins to, will you lean on Him? I would love your company on this challenging day of blessings. I encourage you to seek His Light and kick rocks at the darkness. Wanna see who scores more body shots? Haha.
Be blessed.
