"Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith..." (KJV)
The core reason for the words, "looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith," is because He is the perfect Person to follow—in truth, in Spirit, in character, in essence, and in beauty. He is flawless.
There is no deceit in Him, no sin in Him, no failure in His ways, and no darkness in His nature. Everything He said, did, and lived perfectly reflected the heart of the Father.

The more you behold Him through His Word and by His Spirit, the more you become like Him. He is not only the Author of your faith but also the One who will faithfully bring it to completion.
Keep your eyes on Him, for there is no one more worthy of your trust, your love, and your wholehearted devotion.
