GOD OF THE UNEXPECTED
Beloved, we worship a God who thrives on the unexpected—a God who has a knack for showing up in the most surprising places, at the most surprising times, and in the most surprising ways. Just when it feels like all hope has vanished, God steps in and rewrites the narrative.
Throughout the Bible, this theme resonates over and over. God chose David, a seemingly overlooked shepherd boy, to rise as a king. He picked Gideon, who thought of himself as the least in his family, to lead a powerful deliverance. He visited barren Sarah and blessed her with Isaac. He entered Joseph's prison cell and elevated him to a position next to Pharaoh. Our God isn’t limited by human reasoning—He shatters expectations and reveals His power in ways that leave us in awe.
In Luke 1:37, the angel told Mary, “For with God nothing shall be impossible.” What appeared to be a scandalous and shameful situation—an unmarried virgin becoming pregnant—was actually the stage for the greatest miracle of all: the birth of Jesus Christ.
The God of the unexpected isn’t absent when things seem delayed or denied. He’s simply working behind the scenes, crafting a divine surprise. Don’t try to box Him in. Don’t restrict Him with your plans or timelines. Stay open to divine interruptions.
Are you facing closed doors? He can open them in the most unexpected ways.
Are you waiting for a miracle? He can deliver it in a manner you never saw coming.
Are you wandering in a wilderness? He can bring rivers from dry ground.
Let your faith soar today! Anticipate the unexpected. Trust in the God who turns water into wine, who brings beauty from ashes, and who raises the dead back to life.
Declaration:
“Lord, I believe You are the God of sudden surprises. I yield to Your timing, trust Your ways, and make space for the unexpected breakthrough You have in store for me. Amen.”
“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?” — Isaiah 43:19
