Come Unto Me

Introduction:

Matthew 11:28-30 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

1. An invitation from YHWH Messiah, should certainly capture our attention.
1) One whose word is true.
2) Whose intent is pure.

2. This invitation compels us to make a choice.
1) We can reject it but where will we go for blessing?
2) We can accept it and receive the promised rest.

3. YHWH Messiah is specific in His invitation. His call is for those who labor under a heavy load.

DISCUSSION: Come Unto Me.

I. YHWH Messiah’s Invitation is For All
1. That labor under a heavy load

Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of YHWH;

Hebrews 12:1-2 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto YHWH Messiah the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of YHWH.

2. That are willing to take on a lighter yoke

Hebrews 5:8-9 Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;

John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.

John 15:14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.

II. Messiah’s Invitation is to Rest

1.
Romans 6:18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

John 8:36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

2.
Hebrews 4:9-11 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of YHWH. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as YHWH did from his. Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

Revelation 14:11-13 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name. Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of YHWH, and the faith of YHWH Messiah. And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in YHWH from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.

2 Thessalonians 1:7 And to you who are troubled rest with us, when YHWH Messiah shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,

3. Some claim that obedience to YHWH is an unbearable load. They should consider the burden of sin.
