INTRODUCTION
Acts 8:1–8 marks a major turning point in the Book of Acts. Until this point, the church's ministry had been centered primarily in Jerusalem. Following Stephen's martyrdom, a great persecution broke out against the believers, forcing many Christians to flee the city.
What appeared to be a tragedy became part of God's plan to spread the gospel beyond Jerusalem. As believers scattered throughout Judea and Samaria, they carried the message of Jesus Christ with them.
