Jim Bakker once asked the Lord: "Lord, I am not that holy. Why do You keep on using me?"
And the Lord answered: "Because you always say, 'Yes.'"
This is the power of a simple “Yes” to God. A reminder that God is not looking for perfect people, He is looking for willing hearts.
Many of us disqualify ourselves because we see our weaknesses, our failures, our past mistakes, and the areas where we still need to grow. We say, "Lord, there are others more gifted than me. Others more spiritual than me. Others more qualified than me."
But throughout Scripture, God has always used ordinary people who simply surrendered.
There's Moses who said, "I am slow of speech and tongue." Gideon who said, "My clan is the weakest and I am the least in my family." Peter denied Jesus three times and David had failures that could have ended his story. Yet God still called them. Why?
Because God does not use the strongest...He uses the surrendered.
A willing heart in the hands of God can accomplish what human ability never could and the greatest qualification is not perfection but availability.
Sometimes the reason God keeps calling you is not because you have everything figured out. It is because when He whispers, you still answer: "Yes, Lord."
Yes...when it is uncomfortable, when you feel afraid, when you don't have all the answers. When you feel inadequate, or even when you wonder if God can really use someone like you.
Your "yes" becomes the doorway for His power to work through your life.
Remember, the disciples were not chosen because they were impressive. They were chosen because they were willing to leave their nets and follow Him. And while the world may look for talent, influence, and perfection, God looks for surrender.
A small "yes" from a surrendered heart can become a great testimony in the hands of God.
So if today you feel unqualified, remember: God already knows your weaknesses, your struggles. He already knows you are not perfect and yet He is still calling you.
The question is not: "Am I good enough for God to use me?" The question is: "Will I say yes when He calls?"
...Because a surrendered yes can become the very thing God uses to change lives
