The Lord saw that the wickedness of humankind was great in the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of their hearts was only evil continually. And the Lord was sorry that he had made humankind on the earth, and it grieved him to his heart…. But Noah found favor in the sight of the Lord. Genesis 6:5-6 & 8

Are you ready for Christ’s return?
The subject of sin is vital knowledge, because if you have not learned about sin, you cannot understand yourself, your fellow man, the world you live in, or the Christian faith. Martin Luther said, “Man’s ultimate sin is his unwillingness to admit that he is a sinner.” Are you a sinner? I hope you raised your hand and said, “Yes, I am.” We were created upright, holy and innocent. But then sin entered into the world and what was once good became bad.
All you have to do is look around to find sin running rampant in our world today; shootings in schools, shifts of morality, a father stabbing his wife to death in front of their 3-year-old son, and the list is numerous. I can only imagine how grieved the heart of our Lord is with all the evil that occurs every single moment on earth. Think back on how Noah must have felt when the Lord told him that He was going to flood the earth due to all the wickedness that was happening. Thank goodness He promised to never do that again, because it would have already occurred with the way our world is continually breaking our Lord’s heart.
The Bible does not place the blame for the ruin of creation on Satan. Rather, it places the blame squarely on our shoulders, my brothers and sisters in Christ. Don’t get me wrong, Satan is the epitome of wickedness, but we cannot blame him for our sin. We only need to look in the mirror.
May you continue to ask the Lord for forgiveness of your sins. Our sins are so grievous that God gave His own Son’s life for our redemption, He loved us that much. The cross of Christ points us to the love of God, but it also shows us what God thinks of sin.
A moment in time will come when God will refrain no longer, and this reality should strike fear into every rebellious heart. Continue to look to Jesus for all things.
Are you ready for Christ’s return?
Thank You, Lord, for Your love and mercy that You show us every minute of our lives. I pray that every human will turn their heart and mind to You, the only One whose love is pure and holy. Amen.
