The Advent Truth.
I agree that salvation belongs only to those who obey God. The important distinction is that obedience is not the cause of salvation but the evidence of it. We are saved wholly by God’s grace through faith, never by our own works (Ephesians 2:8-9). But the very next verse says we are created in Christ Jesus for good works (v. 10). A genuine saving faith always produces obedience. As John wrote, “He that saith, I know Him, and keepeth not His commandments, is a liar” (1 John 2:4). Grace doesn’t excuse disobedience—it transforms the sinner into someone who delights to obey Christ.
