THE TEST OF WORSHIP IS COMING — HISTORY WILL BE REPEATED!
BOWING TO BABYLON OR STANDING WITH GOD?
On the plain of Dura, King Nebuchadnezzar erected a massive golden image and commanded all people, nations, and languages to bow down and worship it. Whoever refused would be thrown into a blazing fiery furnace. Daniel 3 records this dramatic event in detail.
As the music of countless instruments filled the air, the vast crowd fell prostrate before the image. Yet three young Hebrews—Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego—refused to compromise their loyalty to God. They chose obedience to Heaven rather than submission to an earthly decree.
Enraged by their refusal, Nebuchadnezzar ordered the furnace to be heated seven times hotter than normal. The flames became so intense that the soldiers who cast the faithful men into the furnace perished. Yet God intervened. Looking into the fire, the king exclaimed:
"Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire?... Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God." (Daniel 3:24–25)
God delivered those faithful young men because they chose to stand for His truth regardless of the consequences.
HOW DOES DANIEL 3 RELATE TO REVELATION 13?
The story of Daniel 3 centers on a universal command to worship an image under threat of death. Revelation 13 describes a future global crisis involving worship, an image, and penalties for those who refuse to comply.
Revelation 13:15 says:
"As many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed."
The final conflict of earth's history is presented in Scripture as a conflict over worship and allegiance to God. Revelation contrasts those who worship the beast with those who remain faithful to God and keep His commandments through faith in Jesus.
At the end of time, every person will choose whom they will obey. The Bible presents two sides:
God or the beast
Truth or error
The commandments of God or the traditions of men
The Lamb or the dragon
The great question is: To whom will we give our allegiance and obedience?
The time has come to study God's Word for ourselves, seek Jesus Christ with all our hearts, and follow Him wherever He leads.
