What I learned today, July 12, from Brother Rodney
Today I came to understand that the flesh perishes because it goes to the grave and returns to dust. This is how the corruptible comes to an end and turns to destruction.
The soul is the breath that God has given. Life exists because of the union of the flesh and the breath. At the resurrection, that breath returns from God.
The phrase "Return, ye children of men" is a call to the resurrection.
I
Death is not the end; it is a gift from God because suffering comes to an end, and we wait in hope for what He has promised.
There is no separate rapture. The true hope is the resurrection, when the corruptible will put on incorruption, and the mortal will put on immortality. That is the true victory.
Death is no longer defeat. Death is victory. It is the hope God has given us.
And the image that touched my heart the most was this: death is sleep, and Jesus is the alarm.
