GOD'S WORD FOR THE DAY
“The Weight of Our Words”
Judges 11:35
“I have given my word to the Lord, and I cannot go back on it.”
This is the Word of God. Judges 11 records Jephthah's tragic vow, reminding us that our words carry great weight. While Scripture does not commend his rash vow, it does teach us to be careful about the promises we make, especially before God.
God desires honesty, wisdom, and integrity from His people. We should speak thoughtfully, keep our commitments, and avoid making careless promises we may later regret.
