Hello, I would like to share with you the message from 17 juillet 2026 from “The Good Seed” daily calendar.
And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless. (Luke 1:6)
Living righteously and obeying
Today’s verse concerns the couple Zacharias and Elizabeth. What the Bible says about them speaks to all Christians who want to live for the joy of God.
They were righteous before God. This does not refer to the status of those who are justified by faith. Rather, it is about practical righteous conduct. In their actions, they sought to align with God’s will as revealed in His Word. They repeatedly asked themselves: Is what I am doing right before God?
They walked blamelessly in all the commandments of the Lord. With this statement, we want to highlight three points:
1. Zacharias and Elizabeth led a life that aligned with divine commandments. They were not concerned with talking much about the Scriptures but rather doing the word of God. In all areas of life, they wanted to obey the Lord and thus please Him.
2. They observed all the commandments of the Lord. Instead of making a selection based on personal preference, it was important to them to take the whole of the Scripture as the standard for their lives. They sincerely wished to do the entire will of God.
3. Zacharias and Elizabeth obediently followed the Lord blamelessly. They did not pride themselves on their faithfulness or look down on others who might have been less obedient. No, they humbly obeyed God’s commandments without boasting about it.
Today’s reading: Leviticus 26:14-33 – Psalms 71:17-24
